Qld: New tree clearing laws for Queensland this week
The Queensland government is preparing harsh new penalties for illegal tree clearing.
Premier PETER BEATTIE says people who remove trees illegally will face fines basedon the value of the land they have cleared.
And he says those convicted will also be banned from holding tree clearing permitsfor five years.
